Tomás Saraceno @ Palais de Tokyo

October 25, 2018

Tomás Saraceno, ON AIR. Three dimensional sculptures interwoven by different spider species⁣⁣⁣.⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Breathtakingly beautiful. A multi-sensorial choreography of voices belonging to both human and non-human (spiders, cosmic dust and radio waves and entities floating in the air) universes. In this work, Tomás sets the stage and invites man and nature into a dance. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
One doesn’t just see the work, one hears this work, one “participates” in the work through changing air currents and spatial vibrations associated with his/her presence. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Turn the audio on to hear the sonic waves. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

Sounds are produced by the 5 threads of spider silk that drift and resonate in the air. “The Air is restless, forever in motion.”⁣⁣⁣⁣
