For those of us who are always on the move, but wish to be tapped in, do check out the ArtAsiaPacific inaugural podcast. Congratulations AAP!
In the inaugural episode, it was good to learn about ArtAsiaPacific’s beginnings (about the time of the inaugural APT), and hear Aric Chen, M+ curator at large, talk about the future of museums and Pascal de Sarthe about the future of the art market. Here’s a quote for us to think about:
“New break in tradition of art history will come from China n the asia region. This break in tradition started in France, the art market followed. The 20th century break in tradition happened during WW2 in America, the art market followed. The 21st break in tradition will be in the asian continent, most likely China and the art market will follow.”
